Troubleshooting
During server maintenance, you cannot play Guardian Tales. You can check the maintenance schedules on our official news page.
If the game doesn't connect even when there's no server maintenance, please check your connection. We have included troubleshooting steps from Google Play and Apple to help you out with connectivity issues:
Should the issue persist, please proceed with the following troubleshooting steps. Take note that the exact steps to perform may vary from device to device.
- If your data transfer method is set to "Download only via Wi-Fi", the game will not download when connected to data
- Check for free space on your mobile device
- Ensure Guardian Tales has permission to access your device's internet connection.
- If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue, please perform a Cache Clear.
Error: 'Unable to Connect'
To resolve this issue, please try the following steps:
IPV6 - Make sure that you have no IPV6 enabled on your device
[Android]
You need to change the APN settings on your Android device to use IPv4 only.
- Go Settings -> Connections -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names.
- Select your mobile operator then scroll down to APN protocol and select it.
- Select IPv4.
[iOS]
It's not possible to disable IPv6 on iOS at the system level, but a VPN app can route connections through iPv4 only
Please be aware that while using a VPN is not a policy violation, doing so is not officially supported
[WiFi]
Please refer to the User Manual of your device (router) to disable IPV6, or contact your Internet Service Provider.
[Mobile Carrier]
Please contact your service provider to disable IPV6.
Check your data usage settings
Please note that the exact steps for checking data usage settings may differ from phone to phone.
- Go to Data Usage on your phone
- Usually found under Settings -> Connection & Sharing -> Data Usage
- For Huawei devices try opening the Optimizer and then proceed to Data Usage.
- Select Guardian Tales from the list of applications.
- Tap on "Details" go to "Restrict data usage" and disable any restrictions.
- For Huawei devices try disabling the Smart Data Saver and give Guardian Tales unrestricted access by editing the Network Access Permissions of Guardian Tales.
- Save the changes, restart your connection, and try connecting to the game again.
